Sunshine’s Angels Funding PEACE Grief Retreat

PEACE is excited about a new community partnership with Sunshine’s Angels; The mission of Sunshine’s Angels is to support children and families seeking treatment following a traumatic life event or death.

PEACE will be partnering with Sunshine’s Angels by providing a Grief Retreat on Sept. 17th 2011 as well as providing services to families seeking Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

Helping the healers heal: Olivia’s House

Recently, Olivia’s House traveled to PEACE’s Kirby Brant Farm site for an equine assisted learning experience. Olivia’s House provided a retreat for their staff and volunteers.

The Olivia’s House volunteers are companions to individuals and families who are experiencing grief. The volunteers spent their day with the horses reflecting on the importance of their work.

PEACE helped to facilitate equine assisted learning experience and to demonstrate the effectiveness of horses in the healing process.
